About LSA’s Terry Fox Fundraiser 2022-2023
The entire campaign raised $12,749.65!
On May 5, we had the privilege of welcoming Fred Fox, Terry’s brother. He spoke to our students about Terry and about the Terry Fox Foundation’s effort to help fight cancer.
In November, we held Hot Ones Comes to LSA, a chicken wing eating contest in which 3 staff members ate progressively spicy wings.
In January, 3 staff members dressed up in inflatable sumo wrestler costumes and played a soccer game against students dressed up in inflatable clown costumes.
In February, we held LSA’s very first Coin Wars. Each grade level had to drop coins in a designated bucket. The coins equalled positive points. The students could “sabotage” their competitors by dropping paper money in the other grade levels’ buckets, as paper money equaled negative points. The Grade 11 students won the contest.
In March, we held Hockey Night at LSA in the LSA Bistro. We watched the Habs against their archrivals, the Boston Bruins.
(Chair Warriors and The Damn Truth)
The fundraising campaign culminated with 2 major events in April. The first was on April 22 when we hosted the very first LSA Rocks For Terry Fox concert. Chair Warriors and The Damn Truth graced our stage and helped us raise close to $9000!
Finally, on April 24, we held the Terry Fox Run
